First Guinness World Record for Rewarding Recycling

The effort of the National Collective System REWARDING RECYCLING, in collaboration with the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina and the Charitable Organization of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens "APOSTOLI", was crowned a resounding success, and achieved a new Guinness World Record for the "most glass bottles recycled in one week".


More specifically, the new Guinness World Record achieved was for the collection and recycling of 134.972 kg of glass packaging (429.254 glass bottles) and lasted from 30/4/2019 to 7/5/2019!

It is noted that the recycling of glass bottles took place in the automated high-tech Rewarding Recycling Centers operating in the "Recycling and Environmental Education Park of Ioannina", which started its operation a most promising message for the protection of the environment and the assistance of citizens in that venture. The "Rewarding Recycling Complex" was inaugurated by His Beatitude the Archbishop of Athens and All of Greece, Ieronymos II.

The Contribution of the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina

It must be graciously noted that this achievement, the winning of the Guinness World Record was achieved with the unparalleled contribution of the Holy Metropolis of Ioannina, which mobilized dozens of volunteers and priests for the weighing and recycling of glass packaging collected.
